Raima Sen in ‘Japanese Wife’
Raima Sen will play an important role in actress-filmmaker Aparna Sen’s next movie.Aparna appears to have temporarily shelved her proposed movie ‘Jewellery Box’ with Govinda, Konkona Sen Sharma and Soha Ali Khan. She is rather focusing on another project with an unusual title called ‘Japanese Wife’.
It is learnt that the film will star a Japanese actress apart from Rahul Bose and Raima Sen.Aparna first spoke about the project with Raima in November last year. Then Raima went to Aparna’s house in Kolkata to hear the script and agreed to do the film.“It is one of the finest scripts I have heard in recent times,” says Raima.The film’s story is apparently based on a women-centric theme. Sexy siren Meghna Naidu will make a scorching debut in Malayalam films. That is the hottest tiding emanating from Mollywood.Bollywood’s oomph girl is in Kochi to do an item number for the Malayalam movie, ‘Bada Dost’ being directed by Viji Thampi. Suresh Gopi is the hero and Jyotirmayi, the heroine.
Ms Naidu is currently doing a Tamil film with Sarath Kumartitled ‘Vaitheeswaran’. She is also part of a Bengali film in the making.Meghna made her southern splash with a Telugu flick titled ‘Don’. She has already sizzled on the silver screen in two Tamil films – ‘Saravana’ with Vijay and ‘Jambavaan’ with Prashanth .Curvaceous Meghna made it clear that she would gladly accept any offer to play the heroine in a Malayalam film.The item number specialist was all praise for Malayalam film world saying that Mollywood makes a lot of films with women-oriented themes.

Bollywood lass Sameera Reddy seems to have become a favourite of Bengali director Buddhadeb Dasgupta.Sameera won accolades for her performance as a woman with American dreams in Dasgupta’s previous movie ‘Kaalpurush’. Now the highly acclaimed filmmaker has signed her for his next film as well.
Titled ‘Me, Yasim and Madhubala’, the film will be about voyeurism.Sameera will play a Kathak dancer named Madhubala in the movie.Despite the film’s apparently provocative subject (voyeurism), there won’t been anything racy or sleazy about it. The movie will explore the way new technology has invaded women’s private space.Sameera has already begun shooting for the film, and despite her unfamiliarity with Bengali Sameera has been picking up the language very fast. She reportedly delivered an 8-page dialogue in a single shot while filming in Kolkata recently.She has also become fond of Bengali delicacies like Rasagulla and Mishti Doi.

Model and item girl Yana Gupta , who has been away from films for some time, is penning a book on nutrition now. “It’s a fitness and health book. I have been into nutrition since I was 16. I am a fitness trainer and also an acupuncture practitioner who treats people,” Yana said.

The girl who shot to fame with her item number `Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo’ in 2003 said her book would be ready by the middle of next year and Penguin publications is publishing it. “In this book, I will advise people to eat nutritious food. I am not advocating any dieting, in fact, people should eat five to six times a day in a smaller quantity under proper guidance,” Yana, who was in Panaji to promote her New-year eve show `Goa Vibe 2006′ along with Pooja Bedi, said. Yana’s penchant for nutritious food led her to pen this book whose name, she wants to keep under wraps at this moment.

“I began writing in February last year and later approached Penguin Publications with whom I have entered into an agreement,” she stated. Asked whether anyone is helping her to shape up this book, Yana replies negatively. “I have been consulting doctors before writing few things,” she said. The book largely talks of Indian food, besides food from few other parts of globe. “Indian food means variety of Indian food…it talks of different parts of the country,” she revealed. Yana terms her brainchild as “health lifestyle book,” which will be printed in attractive colours with the help of professional designers. If this is not enough, the Babuji fame girl, has also inked an agreement with Indiagames company to develop health mobile downloads. “It will be called Yana’s fitness zone wherein mobile users will be able to get access to fitness and beauty tips at a click of a button,” she explains.

The zone will also talk of her experiences during shooting and travelling. “I have partnered with Indiagames company for this zone. Later, it would be sold to the mobile service providers,” she said. Though fully engrossed in her fitness adventures, Yana is not away from acting, music and glamour. “I am going to do an item number in the movie `Kaise Kahen’. Also I am planning an international music album, I want to go more into music now,” she said refraining from further divulging details of her musical venture.

Gorgeous Riya Sen has developed a fascination for jewellery designing.Ironically, Riya has never been interested in jewellery and she would often get bored whenever her mama Moon Moon Sen took her along to the jewelers for shopping. Even after she began her movie career, Riya never wore much jewellery except on very special occasions.

But recently while shooting with fashion photographer Suresh Natarajan for a jewellery campaign, Riya got very fascinated with designs.Although she never had much inclination towards it, Riya decided to begin jewellery designing.And her main inspiration is said to be her grandmother Suchitra Sen’s antique jewellery, which is still with their family.Riya says she will refer to her dadi’s jewellery while creating her own designs, but that doesn’t mean that she will copy designs. She also adds that most of her designs will be of diamond jewellery, but quite reasonably priced.She plans to begin with simple trinkets like earnings, pendants and bracelets. Later on she will move on to wedding jewellery.Whenever Riya is not shooting for a movie nowadays, she sits on her laptop working on the designs.Reports have it that Riya plans to launch her own line in association with Agni Jewellery later this year.

After a long sabbatical from the silver screen, actress Karishma Kapoor will stage a comeback in films very soon.Karisma will star opposite Sanjay Suri in filmmaker Onir’s next movie You and I.

The film will be a romantic story based on adventure sports and will be shot at exotic locations. It is likely to go on the floors next year. Karisma had taken a long break from her acting career after her marriage to Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapur and the birth of her daughter Samaira. She has been seen in several advertisements in the past year and had said she was looking at scripts to make a comeback in acting. Onir’s debut film My Brother Nikhil was acclaimed by critics and audiences, and he followed it up with Bas Ek Pal , a movie on extra-marital relations. Onir’s second movie did not get as positive response as his first movie did.Karisma was last seen in Bollywood in the utterly forgettable movie Mere Jeevan Saathi .
